What Factors Affect Rate of Transpiration in Plants?
This site is a virtual lab by McGraw Hill to explore what factors (heat, light, wind, and type of leaf affect the rate of transpiration rate in plants.
If schools do not have resources or time for transpiration labs, this virtual lab is a good substitute. Students can determine how the structure of the leaf affects transpiration rates and also what abiotic factors affect the rate. This data can be used to predict the environmental conditions where plants with similar leaves would be successful.
