K Informational Text Unit Lesson 2: Pictures and Photographs
A complete lesson plan is provided including a printable Independent Practice Worksheet. The lesson suggests using the book All About Cats and Kittens by Emily Neye, however, another infomational book could be substituted. Teacher uses guided instruction and think alouds to explain how we can learn from photographs and drawings in informational text. Students respond on a class chart during guided practice and respond by drawing and writing during independent practice. You may need to register to use this site, however, it is completely free.
