Partnership Strategies: Summer Institutes

University of Tennessee at Martin

Universities and PK-12 schools both are focused on student learning, yet we interact rarely. The University of Tennessee at Martin would like to change this through our partnerships with local schools. This breakout session describes Summer Institutes and various other strategies we are using to engage faculty from both institutions to collaborate and learn from one another.

Partnership Strategies: Pencil Partnership Program

Lipscomb University and Croft Middle School

Partnerships provide opportunities for K-12 schools and higher education to work together to build a stronger learning community. This session will share one partnership's story of collaboration. The presenters will share activities and experiences that have created opportunities for Croft students and faculty as well as Lipscomb University's student teacher candidates. The accomplishments, challenges, and opportunities discussed will provide insight into creating a positive community partnership.
