Cross Section Flyer
This is an interactive activity in which students use slider bars to move a cross section of a cone, cylinder, prism, or pyramid. The activity allows students to explore conic sections and the 3-dimensional shapes from which they are derived. The site includes instructions for the teacher, worksheets, and links to other resources.
The student will connect the graphs of conic sections to their 3-D counterparts, and will understand the relationship between them.
