Media Literacy in Kindergarten
A brief video featuring students in Brooklyn, New York's PS 130's kindergarten classes, showing off their school website and how they use it with teacher guidance to build and reinforce fundamental media literacy skills on the internet.
The internet is relatively new medium, and its interactive nature presents both a challenge and an opportunity for teachers to introduce students to sites and components of online media that enrich their learning. This short video demonstrates that with sufficient guidance, Kindergarten students have the ability to build interactive media literacy.
