Fun With the Sun
This is an extensive unit with lesson plans, activities, and resources for grades k-2. Although the resource originated in Colorado, the pages can be adapted/adjusted to Tennessee. Be sure to remember the standard numbers listed are Colorado, not Tennessee.
Most teachers will, most likely, not use the entire unit. There are several lessons and activities that can be used in multiple settings. I especially like the T-shirt activity-students design their own. The topic to design around can be adapted to whichever section you want to use the activity. This would be great to hang the designs on a "clothes-line" in the hall/classroom with a large sun "drying" the shirts.
