MyRead Guide - Visual Text Analysis
Contains multiple teacher resources for teaching visual text. It includes a rubric that provides a guide for analysis of political cartoons, advertisements, picture books, or posters. It also contains roles for self and peer assessment, role cards, and reading guides. This resource offers multiple ways to approach visual analysis, including group work, assessment, and individual practice. This resource is from Australia and contains some pictures that are more applicable to Australian audiences; it also contains some Australian English spelling.
This resource can be used as a model for visual analysis. Many of the resources on this page may need to be modified both for grade level appropriateness and for American English students.
