Think-Pair-Share to Practice Simplifying Expressions
Teacher Tonya Kaplan demonstrates and explains her use of the think-pair-share instructional strategy to prompt students to work out a problem independently, discuss the problem with classmates then share responses. The whiteboards used in the demonstration allows the teachers to quickly assess the competency of each student group.
This five-minute video successfully demonstrates usage of the Think-Pair-Share strategy specifically in the context of simplifying equations, though the strategy can certainly be applied to problem sets in mathematics and other content areas.
