Video: Kid Circuit
This video segment is adapted from Zoom. In a previous video, the kids discovered ways to interfere with the flow of electrons through an electrical circuit. On this video, they are challenged to see how many kids can hold hands to complete a circuit. They then test the voltage that is flowing through their completed "kid circuit" and compare that to the original lemon battery circuit.
The video illustrates how electrons move through certain materials, but also illustrates resistance in a circuit. This video could be used to start a discussion on conductivity or resistance. The lemon battery could be recreated in a classroom with basic materials and the students could perform their own experiments. There are discussion questions and a background essay included on the website.
