Minerals
This site provides an introduction to minerals and an alphabetical list of minerals. The alphabetical list contains a picture of the mineral, its chemical formula, and physical properties, such as hardness and cleavage. It also contains information on mineral physical properties, in general, and dichotomous keys to identifying minerals based on their properties.
Teachers can use this site in the development of lessons about physical properties of minerals. The information can be used to make presentations and for students to investigate properties of different minerals and to practice and/or assess what they know about these properties using a dichotomous key to identify minerals.
