Observe Common Objects Made of Minerals
Six different minerals are pictured in this visualization. A cursor is moved over each picture to reveal an object made from the mineral.
This site allows students to discuss and explain how earth materials are used to solve problems and to make life better. It can be used as an introductory activity as students explore other uses of earth materials. Students can participate in a class project in which they research different earth materials and how they are used by humans. A class book, poster, or bulletin board can be created to display student research.
