Fossils are Like Photographs from the Past!
This list of seven links to kid-friendly fossil sites includes photos, a video simulation of fossilization, and other resources to help students understand what fossils can show us about life long, long ago.
If you do not have fossils to show to children, these pictures and other resources will give students ample opportunity to discuss what the plant or animal looked like, and how we can tell quite a bit about them from looking carefully at the fossil.
