Compare Seeds
Have pairs of students choose a pumpkin provided. If this is not available then you can use color tiles or other counters to simulate the seeds. Have students count seeds in each pumpkin, putting them in groups of ten. When they finish counting construct a class chart of seeds counted for each pair in their math notebooks using a T-chart. A T-cart is provided
This resource has students to compare the number of seeds in the pumpkins using the greater than , less than symbols. It provides and extension to include GLE 0206.2.3 to develop multi-digit addition and subtraction using the pumpkin seeds as a manipulative.
