Build Your Own Caterpillar
This interactive site allows students to make a caterpillar that will survive in the provided scene/environment. Students then write explanations telling why they chose a particular adaptation. The explanations can be printed off.
Students select different adaptations that will enable the caterpillar to survive. They choose color, spines, and other adaptations. After each explanation, students write an explanation. These can be printed off and used for class sharing and/or an assessment. The class can compare and defend their choices through a class discussion.
