Applying Hooke's Law to Cancer Detection
This lesson plan explains how the principle of Hooke's Law can be used in a biomedical application to detect cancer. A hands-on laboratory component is part of this lesson plan. Handouts are included.
A simple investigation of spring elasticity, as defined by Hooke's Law, is extended into the area of cancer detection. How tumors are detected by using physics is explained. This lesson plan is best used in regular and advanced placement physics classes.
