This link provides award wining photographs featuring news worthy current events from all over the world. The photographs are accompanied with a short explanation on the events and the location featured.
These photographs can be used as an aid to teach standards on analyzing a primary source to a written text. Teachers can also use these vivid photos as a springboard to write a summary on a form of media. Students can creatively analyze a picture. This can be used as a cross-curricular activity with Social Studies and Science.
