Growing Plants
This game provides the opportunity for students to give plants what they need to grow. The monitor will show when a plant is running out of water. Students will click a lever to water the plant. Students will click a blind to pull it down and shut out sunlight. Students will decide what their plants need to grow and, if they are unsuccessful in growing a healthy plant, students can click reset and try again.
This game is extremely student friendly. It has a help button that highlights and explains each part of the game. Students can read the text or click audio and have every part of the game read. Arrows can be clicked to make the game slightly harder or easier. The experiment can be reset for more than one experience. Students can go to another screen to label parts of the plant. A quiz is also included to test what they know about growing plants. This game supports understanding that: *plants need a place to live and grow *some places are better than others for plants to grow *plants need sunlight to grow *organisms can survive only where their needs can be met
