Using Context Clues to find Meaning
This animated PowerPoint provides a clear –concise way to teach students to use context clues. The teacher, Mrs. Acker, guides students through the process of supplementing synonyms and using appositives. The focus is using context clues to make meaning of unknown words.
This PowerPoint could be used at the introduction of the strategy. The slides flow in a logical way to help students make sense of the strategy. After students show mastery it may be helpful to identify the use synonyms and appositives. Side Note: The database, Author Stream, is beneficial to explore for more support material. Some PowerPoint presentations are animated with audio while others are more basic.
