Organelle Writing activity
This is a link to a RAFT writing activity for cell organelles. The student writes a persuasive article to inform his peers as to why he is the most important organelle in the cell. Included within the activity are peer editing tools, self editing tools, and a rubric for grading the writing assignment.
This writing assessment could be used as any of the three forms of assessment. If used as a pre-assessment and followed up with a summative assessment, a comparison could be made by the students regarding what they have learned during the discussion and GLE activities.
