Blubber Glove for Adaptations
Students determine how an animal's body fat can be an adaptation for survival in Arctic regions of the world. This activity will have students actively engaged. Prior to activity students generate answers to open ended questions. In the post activity students discuss how the adaptation can benefit survival of an organism. Information is provided to prompt further research.
This activity allows students to experience a simulation of an adaptation. This activity can be set up in groups as a lab project and then have groups generate their own questions. Groups may then research the adaptations of organisms in other regions of the world and present information to class.
