Resource Guide for the Components of Literacy
This Teacher Resource Guide accompanies the Fourth and Fifth Grade (4-5) Student Center Activities developed by the Florida Center for Reading Research and funded by Just Read, Florida!. It is designed to assist teachers in differentiating instruction by using independent Student Center Activities that support skill building in four of the five components of reading (Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension). This Teacher Resource Guide is accompanied by a Professional Development DVD which discusses and illustrates important elements when implementing Student Centers in a classroom. Text from site.
This teacher resource guide gives succinct information for the five components of literacy (phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension). There are descriptions of each component as well as useful charts for foundational skills. This is a great quick reference for instructional planning.
