Reading Informational Text Using 3-2-1 Strategy
Students learn to use the 3-2-1 strategy, which involves writing about three things they discovered, two things they found interesting, and one question they still have.
This is an age appropriate way to introduce first graders to the skill of reading informational texts to gain information. There is no wrong or right answer. They take ownership of their learning and get to choose the information they want to focus on. Teachers will need to model this strategy and provide support as needed.
