Mrs. Tyler's Movies and Music: British Literature
The main British Literature page for this extensive blog. Filled with film clips, both professional and student generated, based on works of British Literature. Along the right side of the page are many clickable "Labels" that allow users to go to other more specifically themed pages.
The numerous videos here can be used to dicuss text vs. visual and aural interpretations. For example, the video provided of a peformance of the dramatic monologue "Porphyria's Lover" features an actor haughtily glaring at the crowd before speaking, and his dress appears slightly disheveled. Students could discuss what these visual images convey about the poem. The provided video's are rather small, but users can go directly to YouTube and find many there where better resolutions and full-screen zooming is available.
