Brain POP Main Idea Video
This is a website with an informational student-friendly video on Main Idea. It is short, and there are a quiz and activities to go along with it. It is free at www.brainpop.com, but this website normally requires a subscription.
CU 0701.6.2 SPI 0701.6.2 This website can be used as an anticipatory set to get the kids interested in Main Idea. It could also be used as a review since it is less than 5 minutes long. There are other great resources with the video like a quiz that can be taken as a formative assessment or done as a whole class on an interactive whiteboard. There are also worksheets that go along with main idea like vocabulary, a graphic organizer, and an activity worksheet. These items can be found underneath the video box.
