Tracking the Sun
This applet allows you to choose a city (your own or another city in the world) and track the position of the sun in the sky hour by hour. You can even choose a different season of the year, and compare the track of the sun in that season to the season you are currently experiencing.
This graphic may be too complex for some students, but with the teacher demonstrating on a large-screen monitor, it can be helpful (once the students have observed the sun's position outdoors at several times in a day). Advanced "techie" students might enjoy using it themselves on an individual basis.
