The Doorbell Rang-Division Lesson
The lesson uses The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins to teach division as a way of sharing or dividing resources with others. This tradebook can be used as a whole group discussion.
This lesson uses the book The Doorbell Rang to model division to students. This would be appropriate for whole group instruction. Students would be given some kind of manipulative to represent the cookies in the story, and then be shown how to divide or group the cookies so that everyone has an equal number of parts.
