A twelve page Word document that can be downloaded that outlines the information gathering phase of research.
This strategy provides a guide for gathering information from the beginning to the end of the gathering phase. This resource provides information on gathering basic to highly specific information, searching for information online as well in libraries, citing information, and evaluation of sources. With that said, this resource exists for students at Brigham Young University and therefore includes references to their library as well as the Library of Congress subject headings (most school libraries use Dewey Decimal). This resource, however, provides an outline for where to gather information other than a simple Google search and offers a step by step plan for students who need a prescribed way to do research.
