Silly Science Classification
The resource is a link to a silly science activity to begin understanding and use of a dichotomous key. The materials are easy to come by and inexpensive. The goal of the activity is to use a dichotomous key to classify real life items and match them up with the fictitious names that are listed on the key. This activity is an introduction to using dichotomous keys to classify organisms. This activity could be used as a preassessment before instruction begins. The goal is to match up the real life item with the made up name.
