Silva Rhetoricae: The Forest of Rhetoric. [ALL About Rhetoric]. Author: Gideon Burton, Brigham Young University
This resource abounds with information concerning rhetoric; from persuasive appeals to branches of oratory to canons of rhetoric, this site even includes a plethora of definitions of rhetorical figures with examples from history and literature. This site also discusses rhetorical pedagogy and a rhetoric timeline. This resource can be use for teacher knowledge of rhetoric, student research, teacher instruction of material, or student differentiation (higher level). The information is so vast and detailed that it will benefit honors and AP students the most and aid in a more complex understanding of rhetoric that goes beyond the state standards. With that being said, however, examples and definitions could be helpful at any high school level.
