Multimedia Heroes Analysis
This lesson uses a story that highlights a hero, such as a Greek myth, and has students compare literary heroes with those in art. This lesson contains all needed resources or links to needed resources, including art. This lesson also includes a research aspect in which students choose a hero depicted in art for a short research essay. This lesson can be used with any literature in which understanding a hero's role in the story is a focused skill. Students work in collaborative groups to brainstorm heroes and then compare heroes in literature to those depicted in art. In turn, students are analyzing heroes in literature, art, and history. They can also work on research skills if the teacher uses the research aspect of the lesson.
