F. Martin Aller-Stead High School English Resources

This website offers multiple resources for Romeo and Juliet, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird, A Midsummer's Night Dream as well as poetry and writing skills.  Resources include questions, background knowledge, Power Point presentations, webquests, and website links. Questions and background knowledge help students comprehend and make connections to the works of literature. A webquest for To Kill A Mockingbird creates in-depth background knowledge for students while the author provides guided reading questions for MacBeth and links to a professor's website for background knowledge.  These resources are excellent to use before or during reading of these pieces of literature.  The writing resources also provide a strong foundation in skills addressed, which include an useful five paragraph essay graphic organizer (PDF) and several Power Points that address writing skills.
