Reading Comprehension Kickball
A kinesthetic lesson to engage students in reading comprehension using a familiar game of kickball. The lesson can be modified to fit any story and time frame of the classroom. However, planning and prep work for materials must be completed to make this lesson work effectively. This game can be easily modified for ant text that you want to measure the reading comprehension of your students. It starts off simply answering questions, then as students move around the bases they are asked to about characters challenges, comparing themselves to the character, sketching favorite parts of the story, writers style, mood, theme and plot questions. This is easy to adapt to fit your needs as a teacher of reading, or content areas.
