Nowhere to Hide

This site begins by providing teachers with background information about the understanding their students should know about the differences in organisms. In this NetLink lesson teachers motivate students with a quick write and then discussion of adaptations animals have that help their survival. A link to a Brain Pop Video and coordinating student assessment over video are provided. An interactive game allows students to simulate survival of the fittest. Students work in groups to formulate explanations for why some organisms have advantages for survival. A great glossary and links for teacher help are enclosed on site. Students will experience population survival with the interactive game. This lesson can be adapted if unable to view Brain Pop videos. The glossary is a great tool for teachers and students. The prior knowledge information and research can help teachers understand students knowledge levels. An extension is provided and answers for questions regarding evolution are linked to this site.
