Dr. Suze Gilbert is passionate about working with current and future educators as they examine current research and best practices in order to impact Prek-12 learners in both public and private schools. She teaches courses on content area reading, teaching writing, leadership in literacy and building classroom community. Gilbert enjoys working in schools alongside teachers in professional development settings. In addition to working and learning with local educators, Gilbert works with Eastern European Missions (EEM) where she and Bobbie Solley developed a Character Education Curriculum for educators. Suze and Bobbie have worked closely with Ukrainian teachers and educators in Kiev and Odessa since 2018.
Prior to her work at Lipscomb University, Gilbert served in the College of Education at Middle Tennessee State University where she taught both graduate and undergraduate courses. She also served as one of the directors of the Middle Tennessee Writing Project.
