Samantha P. Barclay has been a preschool teacher at The Acorn School at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee since 2015. She earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Nashville State Community College as well as an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Austin Peay State University. Samantha is a member of several professional organizations such as The National Society of Leadership and Success, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Phi Theta Kappa, Southern Early Childhood Education (SECA) and The Tennessee Association for Children’s Early Education (TACEE). She is also very active on the campus of Vanderbilt as a member of the University Staff Advisory Council (USAC). Samantha has contributed to her department by being a part of the Vanderbilt Child & Family Center Advisory Task Force and The Acorn School Curriculum Committee.
Throughout her professional career, Samantha has had the opportunity to work with a variety of young people from birth through high school on several educational and community platforms. These experiences have allowed her the chances to implement a desire and passion for the field of early childhood education while growing personally as an educator.
