A former teacher, from Pre-K, K, 1st and up through Middle School with over 15 years of experience. In 2003 I won Middle School Teacher of the Year for region 8, which was cool, I thought, for an art teacher. My goal as a teacher, was to always keep lessons fun, creative, and engaging, all while hitting the standards required. Now, I get to be a Curriculum Coordinator, sharing those lessons (and coming up with new ones!) with other teachers. I really hope to inspire teachers to not get bogged down with what you MUST teach, but to take those standards and make them FUN.
