Bachelor’s degree in English from Auburn University; Master’s of Secondary English Education from Vanderbilt University; Ph. D. in Literacy Studies from Middle Tennessee State University. Dr. Hasty has K-12 teaching experience in middle and high school English/Language Arts. She is currently the Lead Faculty for Instructional Coaching at Lipscomb University where she teaches graduate-level courses in secondary literacy instruction, instructional practice, and culturally proficient coaching. Dr. Hasty’s research interests include adolescent and critical literacy, response to text and classroom text discussion, writing instruction, and teachers’ reading and writing practices. She has presented at national conferences and been published in professional journals.
